Breville began life in the 1930s on Melbourne Cup day, when two Australian entrepreneurs by the names of Bill O’Brien and Harry Norville combined their surnames to make Breville. These two guys started off making radios and then moved onto mine detectors in the second world war, but the radio business was sold after the war, and they concentrated on the small appliance market.
Once their research and development centre was setup in the 60s, the inventions started to come thick and fast. They invented the Snack ‘n’ Sandwich maker in 1974 and in 1977, the Breville Kitchen Wizz – Australia’s first food processor.
Today, Breville make a range of kitchen appliances including a few toaster ovens like:
Breville BOV650XL Toaster Oven – an 1800 watt countertop oven with independent heating elements. This toaster oven has 8 presets including toast, bake, bagel, broil, pizza, cookies, roast and reheat, making it a highly versatile toaster oven for the modern kitchen. Taking up less space that its big brother – the Breville Oven, the Breville Toaster Oven takes up less space.
Breville The Smart Oven Convection Toaster Oven Bundle – BOV800XL comes with Silicone tongs and a heat resistant slotted spatula. This is a good choice of oven for those who prefer a natural convection oven (with fan) instead of a microwave.
